About Our New Bee Cave Location

South Austin Vein Center was established in 2017 by Dr. Michael Di Iorio with the goal of providing patients the most advanced and effective treatment along with the personalized care they deserve. We are excited to now offer our services in Bee Cave to help your legs look and feel their best!

At South Austin Vein Center we understand the importance of vein health. Many people regard varicose or spider veins as a cosmetic problem, but vein disease is a progressive condition, which if left untreated, can lead to serious health problems. Fortunately, with modern technology, vein disease can easily and effectively be treated with no down time. Dr. Di Iorio is a board certified, fellowship-trained vein expert with over 15 years experience in minimally invasive image guided vascular procedures. Dr. Iorio has personally performed over 20,000 vein treatment procedures.

He is a frequent speaker at national meetings and has authored multiple peer reviewed publications on varicose vein treatment including co-authoring the Society of Vascular Surgery, American Venous Forum, and American Vein and Lymphatic Society Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Varicose Veins of the Lower Extremities.

Our Vein Treatment Services

Comprehensive vein treatment can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life. Dr. Di Iorio offers a variety of treatment options that are minimally invasive and effective.

Services:

    • Endovenous Ablation Procedures: A minimally invasive, in-office treatment alternative to surgical stripping that  seals a diseased vein closed with heat. Over time the vein fades away. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes, and you’re encouraged to resume normal activities immediately following the procedure.

    • VenaSeal: A new, minimally invasive treatment that improves blood flow by sealing a diseased vein with a special medical adhesive. Many patients return to normal activity immediately after the procedure.

    • Varithena®: A nonsurgical FDA-approved microfoam that is used to treat a wide variety of varicose veins. Treatment involves injecting a small amount of Varithena® through a catheter or small needle into a malfunctioning vein under US guidance. Treatment has been shown to improve both the symptoms caused by varicose veins and vein appearance.

    • Ambulatory Microphlebectomy: A procedure for large bulging veins that are too large to treat with sclerotherapy and are not straight enough to perform endovenous ablation on. Performed in the office using local anesthesia through tiny nicks in the skin.

    • Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy: A procedure in which a foam medication is injected into a varicose vein destroying the vein lining and closing the vein. Overtime, these veins are reabsorbed by the body.

    • Sclerotherapy: A cosmetic procedure performed to reduce the appearance of and eliminate spider veins and reticular veins. There is usually no “recovery” time after sclerotherapy, and patients can resume their regular activities immediately.

    • VeinGogh™ (Ohmic Thermolysis): Among the newest technologies available for treating tiny spider veins almost anywhere on the body. Generally, only one treatment is needed, but depending on the specific condition, a follow-up treatment session may be necessary.

    • Compression Stockings: Graduated compression stockings are the mainstay of conservative management and prevention of venous disease. These are typically prescribed to be worn during active hours when patients are on their feet.
