Are bulging, twisted, and painful veins making life uncomfortable? At South Austin Vein Center, we understand that vein disease can encroach on every part of your life—and we know that you deserve better.
Our empathetic team of vein experts, led by Dr. Michael Di Iorio, one of the first doctors certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, offers leading-edge vein treatment solutions. Recognized as a Top Doctor for Austin by Castle Connolly, we’re proud to be known as the foremost varicose vein experts. When our patients have problem veins and are seeking simple, quick, yet effective solutions, VenaSeal™ is one of our go-to recommendations. Read on to learn why we love it.
VenaSeal is a non-surgical treatment that uses special medical adhesive to seal varicose veins (as you might expect from the name!) By closing the affected vein, your body can naturally dispose of the old vein walls and send that blood to healthier veins.
This approach is both cosmetic and medical: It improves appearance and symptoms.
During this treatment, Dr. Di Iorio administers local anesthesia to numb the entry point to the vein. Once numb, he uses ultrasound guidance to advance a thin catheter into the vein.
Dr. Di Iorio delivers tiny amounts of adhesive within the vein at intervals of about one inch as he withdraws the catheter. He applies gentle pressure as he works to help the vein walls seal shut.
After a brief rest in our office, you can return home and return to your day.
Many of our patients choose VenaSeal as their vein solution because:
One of the biggest benefits of all: VenaSeal has an excellent success rate. In studies conducted five years post-treatment, nearly 95% of the treated veins remained closed, with patients enjoying continued symptom relief.
We believe in tailoring your treatment to your individual needs. While VenaSeal is a great option, we also offer endovenous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and foam sclerotherapy to ensure we can offer every patient a customized treatment plan.
